Maralyn Parker's Blog

Maralyn Packer is the award winning education columnist for The Daily Telegraph in Sydney, Australia. Packer is well known for her support for public education in Australia and has left leaning political views. Maralyn believes that school education is particularly underfunded in Australia and that the federal and state governments must seriously reinvest Australia's public systems. Her columns appear weekly in The Daily Telegraph.

I read one of her columns 'I hate homework'.
She posted it on Monday. 21st July 2008.

In this post, she discuss the homework.
A girl said 'I hate homework' and Maralyn analysed that why some students hate it and cannot enjoy...

She insisted that Kindergarten children should never be given homework.
And up yo Year 6 it depends on how much the child is enjoying  the work and how hard it is to do.
This is good information for both students and their parents.

I agree with her.
Kindergarten children shouldn't have to study hard...
Children have to enjoy their lives especially they are young...
It is really important to enjoy studying.

I just wrote about 'I hate homework'.
But you would be able to find out more interesting her columns.
Go and check it out!

Why study communication?

Studying communication is more fundamental than selecting a major for a job. Communication is the primary social process. It would be impossible for social institutions to exist as we know them without communication. Human beings engage in communication as a means to facilitate meaning and to coordinate human activities. Other disciplines recognize the importance of communication but place it among other variables while communication majors recognize the importance and central role that communication plays in daily life.

Oral communication has long been our main method for communicating with one another. It is estimated that 75 percent of a person’s day is spent communicating in some way. As a college student, 69 percent of your communication time is spent on speaking and listening.

As a communication major, you develop skills in each of the areas outlined above by designing a major program and possibly a minor program, which will make you a strong candidate in the future job market, but not limited to a particular career path.

this information has been taken from Eastern Illinonis University, if you want to know about study of communication, just directly go to this link

You can choose your topic whatever you want.
Hope to enjoy making your newsletters as well!

1st stage Heaps of Assignments

As We mentioned before, we took 6 subjects in 1st semester.

Each subject has 3 or 4 Assignments.... so....

We've done nearly 20 assignments in 1st semester OMG...haha

One thing I can say to you all is....

It is IMPORTANT to manage your TIME!

First Post

We are studying in communication course 3rd stage.

One of our 5 subjects in this semester is 'COMM315', Production Skills.

Now we are learning 'Citizen Journalism: Podcasts and Blogging'.

Our topic is about communication course in UTS or Insearch for new students who have not decided what major they want to take.

In this class, we are using a computer lab and apple computers (see the picture, left).

He is Rubes, one of our classmates. He is also working on his group's blog as you can see.
